TYPES OF ENGAGEMENTS
IMPROVED TEAM INTERACTION
In this program each team member will take an Individual Assessment covering motivations and behaviors. A certified professional business analyst will do a personal review with each team member. Then the group will learn how their motivations and behaviors impact their interactions with each other and their ability to produce as a team. Specific sources of agreement and conflict will be reviewed and understood. This exercise provides a great understanding of personality, behavior, and motivation as well as provides a common language to enhance team building and individual performance reviews.

-Also great as a retreat exercise.
BUSINESS ADVISORY
Being the Chief Executive in an organization is unique. You have great leadership opportunities, but the position also comes with certain responsibilities and stresses that others do not quite understand. You may have a Board of Directors and/or an outside group of like-minded individuals with whom to share, but neither provide the frequent and consistent support. This business advisory is about always being there for you. Trust is developed addressing the “little” issues and when the “big” issues surface, you will embrace the support from someone who truly understands the nuances of the situation. Business Advisory is conducted by Jason Stern who has been the Chief Executive of multiple organizations.
EXECUTIVE COACH
Even the greatest actors & athletes have coaches. Having a coach invested primarily in the success of the individual is truly a gift. The benefits are far reaching and typically go beyond what was originally anticipated. Individuals will be more productive, happier, work with a greater purpose, feel less alone, act more confidently, and therefore be positioned to be a better leader.
-Executive Coaching engagements are typically one-on-one sessions held 1 or 2 times per month.
EARLY STAGE COMPANY
Early stage companies typically have more ideas than structure. Gift of Time works with entrepreneurs thinking ahead about establishing their company right from the start. Types of topics addressed are: how to design a management team, optimal employee compensation packages, and creating business processes that are both effective and save time.
MATURE COMPANIES
What worked in the past, may not be as effective today, and might be even less effective in the future. Gift of Time advises companies ready to “revitalize” their business. Through a review of the strategy, people, and business processes we identify opportunities and provide leadership in the implementation of improvements.
STRUGGLING / TURN-AROUND
Maybe the industry has changed, or certain departments have been ignored. Getting back on track while struggling to keep everything moving can be a challenge. Gift of Time’s analysis of strategy, people and operational excellence provides great clarity into where to focus to get back on track. Additionally, Gift of Time will guide the design and implementation of the corrections.
GROWTH / JUMP-START COMPANIES
Companies experiencing high growth are always in “go” mode. They lack time to evaluate decisions and business processes. This works for a while, until the haphazard processes catch up to them. They also don’t have enough capable people to perform all the work. Gift of Time helps manage through all this.
CASE STUDIES
EXECUTIVE COACH
Case Study: Our client had grown up in the business and knew the products and clients as well as anyone. Then he got promoted to a manager and went from an individual contributor to a company leader. He questioned himself as he learned on the job how to manage a team. He did not have a lot of experience in addressing challenging HR issues. We began meeting with him 2 times per month and occasionally attended his team meetings. His skill set and confidence have both blossomed. Because of his improved leadership skills, he was asked to become a partner in the company.
EARLY STAGE COMPANY
Case Study: Two entrepreneurs in an early stage company were struggling to keep up with their growth. They wanted to hire; but were not sure for what role. Gift of Time helped them design a forward thinking organizational chart and then prioritize key hires. Creative compensation structures were also designed and implemented. Gift of Time continues to consult in an advisory capacity as this company continues it profitable growth.
MATURE COMPANIES
Case Study: An old family business was stable but not growing. The newer generation wanted to invest in the business, but the older generation wanted to do it the same way they had always done it. Gift of Time engaged with the company leadership to understand the details of the two options. Different strategies were discussed and evaluated with the team. An approach that both generations could agree upon was presented and ultimately implemented. The company is currently back in growth mode.
STRUGGLING / TURN-AROUND
Case Study: A large national company experienced a dramatic change in their industry due to a new federal regulation. Management struggled to course correct and the company was suffering. Gift of Time worked with the executive team and lead a series of changes. Some positions needed to be filled, others were duplicated and needed separation and a few of the key executives were simply not a good fit for the environment. Significant changes were made at the leadership level and the company is currently on track and performance is improving.
GROWTH / JUMP-START COMPANIES
Case Study: A service company was growing at a good pace. Ownership was optimistic and hired heavily to keep up. A few months later, ownership realized that the additional hires were not producing. There was a lot of confusion in that employees did not have clarity on their goals and leadership did not know exactly what to expect from the team. Gift of Time engaged and evaluated the roles, responsibilities, metrics and reports. Certain positions were given more responsibility, some of the people changed roles, and a few are no longer with the company. Metrics and reporting were implemented for all departments. The team members are now performing and the reporting exists to confirm this with ownership.
